Learning how to code in this day and age?
For me, it came down to curiosity. The world basically runs on computers, and I wanted to learn more about that. Python came highly recommended as the best place to begin.
I am not pursuing a career in programming by any means. This a hobby that helps me to expand my mind and get a very basic understanding of how the features I design might work in the back-end.
I found a great course path on Boot.dev that covers Python, Linux, Git, but also SQL and Docker, and I figured I’d give it a try.
8 months later... I’m still at it, and I’m still loving that daily "experimenting with the brain." I’ve realized I’m not in a rush; I’m enjoying the process of building a real foundation. It is funny that after all this time I am still a complete novice. There is a lot to learn and I am in awe of my engineering colleagues!
